City Tavern!

City Tavern!  Well known location in Philly, was at one point the location of the unofficial Whitehouse when Philadelphia was the nation's capital.  Still standing today it is recognized in Philly as a historic location with great food and good beer.  Pictured here is the turkey pot pie, which is based on Martha Washington's recipe, the pie was very good with a light crisp crust and hearty filling, served with a side of noodles.  I paired the pot pie with the Jefferson Ale, which has the deep color of a good lager, but actually has a bit of stronger flavor than the typical lager.  The beers at city tavern are based upon recipes from some of the founding fathers, so be sure to sample more than one, however you don't want to drink here too long, as it is $7.75 a beer.
